I need a rita!

Forget the hurricane. Give me the drink! You would think that I would be happy not to be at work...not to have any obligations whatsoever. No sir! I've never been so bored with an extra-long weekend in my life. Give me some alcohol so I can spice things up a bit!! I have gotten a chance to catch up on my much needed sleep, but even sleeping gets boring. Every one of my friends that live down here is gone...Dallas, Florida, etc. There aren't any restaurants open where we could go eat. There isn't any gas anywhere. And where there is some, the lines are a mile long. The mass exodus of 2.7 million people will return very soon, and I'm pretty sure it will be the same scene as Thursday...chaos.

Sorry, we're very short on nerves today. I guess it's a good thing we didn't have a direct hit over here in Sugar Land. I can only imagine what it would have been like. No power, storing water, dying of a heat stroke...things like that. I'm grateful we don't have to deal with that. Now I will go enjoy an ice cold beer (or a few of them) and some tacos and bury myself in my so-called room and watch whatever is on TV that isn't related to the current weather situation. :)
